Dear Parents/Carers
Preparations are well underway for Band Camp 2022, which will be held Saturday 20 August and Sunday 21 August at Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation, Wakehurst Parkway, Narrabeen
The Camp is a highlight of the year for our musicians and plays a significant role in developing their musical skills. The two days of music development is equal to almost a term of band rehearsals.
All band members are expected to commit to attend for the duration of the camp. Partial attendance or even a few hours away from tutoring will have an impact on your child's learning and the entire team. Year 5 and 6 children are invited to stay overnight on Saturday night.
The students and band conductors spend an intensive two days, where they will prepare for performances in Terms 3 and 4. Activities include participation in full band rehearsals, small group tutorials and outdoor activities supervised by teachers and parents.
The tuition schedule and other activities are designed to be stimulating and enjoyable for the children from which they benefit greatly.
Costs for band camp are included in the annual band fees.

What you need to do:

2. Volunteer to help ... we need many hands to ensure the camp goes smoothly
and your children are supervised adequately to ensure their safety and welfare
Medications
NOTE: All student medication must be provided to camp staff at Registration. Medications will not be brought from the school
Volunteering at Camp
We need help from parents to assist with a range of tasks leading up to, at Camp and then after Camp. Most importantly we need many hands to ensure your children are supervised at all times and their safety and welfare is taken care of. We are asking for 2 hours shifts..... please sign up to help. It's a great opportunity if you are unable to volunteer at other times.
